Promoting independence through training and therapy
Occupational Therapy focuses on the whole child by enhancing functional skills and improving independence with daily tasks. Children enjoy engaging in playful tasks which improve areas of difficulty by challenging them to achieve their optimum potential.
Occupational Therapy promotes cognitive, mobility, and motor skills development and provides a positive emotional environment to assist the child in meeting goals.
Our occupational therapists will design a treatment plan focusing on the child’s needs at his or her current functional level. The following diagnoses would benefit from occupational therapy:
- Autism
- Developmental Delays
- Birth injuries or congenital disabilities
- Sensory processing disorders
- Traumatic injuries affecting the brain or spinal area
- Cognitive and learning difficulties
- Down’s Syndrome
- Cerebral Palsy
- Feeding Difficulties
- Visual Motor/ Visual Perceptual Difficulties
